Through constant innovation the quality, durability and security of our products is genuinely second to none. As a local company we are proud to offer British Standards BS7412/PAS24 for enhanced security.

We refuse to compromise on quality

Our windows are made from British Made, high quality MarinespecTM components, with up to 25 years anti corrosion. They are built specifically for the more exposed areas of corrosion, such as coastal environments to give you worry free performance beyond your guarantee.  We believe spending more on components is worth every penny, and sets us apart from our competitors.

State of the art fabrication for best quality

We have invested millions of pounds into one of the most state of the art manufacturing facilities in the UK.  This enables us to provide you with consistently high quality products at exceptionally good prices. Our loyal factory workers are well trained and take pride in their work, they really care about quality.  Our machines are maintained according to a rigorous servicing regime to keep them in top condition.

Superior energy efficiency

Our ‘A’ rated energy efficient and triple glazed windows are tested by the BFRC, which will save you money on your heating bills. By law your windows and doors have to meet strict thermal performance regulations but you can be rest assured that our products exceed current requirements.

Energy saving is incredibly important and so is keeping your fuel bills down. We are continuously looking for ways to make our homes energy efficient and one way is to choose new PVCu windows and doors. Not only will they help to keep your home warmer, they will reduce your energy loss.

Don’t just take our word for it!

Our suppliers conform to strictly controlled and independently monitored Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001, to ensure that everything is done correctly and according to best practise.

Our windows are tested independently by British Standards for security, weather tightness and strength performance. This means that periodically, we have to send them to independent test houses, in order to be tested to destruction.

These are just some of the many standards the products in our vast range conform to. Needless to say we take the quality of our products very seriously indeed.

Are uPVC sash windows any good?

UPVC is a material which is known for its durability and versatility, but was never famed for its good looks. Now, however, uPVC can replicate a traditional looking sash window – a good uPVC sash window can look almost identical to a classic freshly-painted wooden one, but without any of the maintenance!

Another plus is that they are a lot cheaper than wooden frames, resulting in a more cost-efficient window that doesn’t compromise on quality. UPVC sash windows require very little upkeep, as they are easy to clean and don’t require an extra lick of paint to keep them looking fresh.

Can sash windows be double glazed?

With uPVC sash windows, you can upgrade your window to double or triple glazing, which helps to keep your home insulated: the layers of glass trap gas between them, preventing cold air from getting in, and warm air from escaping your home.

UPVC sash windows are a fantastic cost-effective option: they are one of the cheapest options out there, meaning you can install a double glazed sash window for a cheaper price. They have also been modified so that they can come in a wood grain finish, so that you get all of the aesthetics of a wooden sash window for a lower cost!

How do you measure a sash window?

Sash window width – measure one side of the window to the other within the box frame, excluding the width of the box that the window sits in
Sash window height – include both sashes when you measure from the top of the window to the bottom. Measure inside the box frame for an accurate measurement of the sash windows themselves
Box frame height – measure the top of your window frame all the way down to the windowsill
Box frame width – this includes the entire window frame

How does a window sash work?

Consisting of two or more panels, a sash window works by having at least one panel that can move vertically up or down. If your sash window is single hung this means that just one panel moves, although if you would like more air flow into your home then a double hung sash window lets both the top and bottom panels move.

When a sash window slides open, the panel glass remains in the same place and does not slide back down into the casing. This is because it operates on a pulley system – one window is at one end of the cord, whilst a counterweight is at the other, ensuring your window doesn’t shut on itself when you let go of the sash.

Are uPVC or Aluminum windows better?

UPVC is the ideal option if you’re looking for maximum insulation within your home: uPVC sash windows are made from a naturally insulative material which adds more thermal insulation. UPVC is also long-lasting and requires minimal upkeep – simply wipe away any marks that you spot on your uPVC sash window.

Aluminium sash windows are a more expensive option than uPVC, but it is an incredibly robust material. As it is stronger than uPVC, aluminium sash windows can be made from smaller window frames and sashes, resulting in a larger glass surface area. If you want to let maximum light into your home, or want to enjoy a beautiful view with no distractions, then aluminium sash windows could be the right option for you.

Which part of the window is the sash?

A window sash is the section of the window that holds the glass panes together and sits within the window frame. The sash can depend on the type of window that you have: with a double hung window two sashes move up and down, and with a single hung window only one sash will move.

A window sash must be properly installed and maintained, otherwise the window can warp over time. Not only does this look less attractive, but it can also leak and let draughts in, damaging your window frame and reducing the insulative properties of your sash window.
