Our ‘A’ rated energy efficient and triple glazed windows are tested by the BFRC, which will save you money on your heating bills. By law your windows and doors have to meet strict thermal performance regulations but you can be rest assured that our products exceed current requirements.
Energy saving is incredibly important and so is keeping your fuel bills down. We are continuously looking for ways to make our homes energy efficient and one way is to choose new PVCu windows and doors. Not only will they help to keep your home warmer, they will reduce your energy loss.
Don’t just take our word for it!
Our suppliers conform to strictly controlled and independently monitored Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001, to ensure that everything is done correctly and according to best practise.
Our windows are tested independently by British Standards for security, weather tightness and strength performance. This means that periodically, we have to send them to independent test houses, in order to be tested to destruction.
These are just some of the many standards the products in our vast range conform to. Needless to say we take the quality of our products very seriously indeed.

Are uPVC doors better than wood?
Because uPVC doors are easy to mass produce, they are one of the cheapest options on the market. In comparison, wooden doors require more skill and craftsmanship to produce, making them a pricier option.
UPVC doors are a secure option, coming with up-to-date locks for maximum safety. They are also very easy to maintain, demanding little of your attention once they’ve been put in place.
Wooden doors are also a secure option – in fact, they are one of the strongest materials that a door can be constructed from. The natural thickness of the material also forms a natural insulator, keeping heat in and blocking out outside noises.
How long do uPVC doors last?
As uPVC is made from a type of plastic, the doors take a while to degrade, lasting from 30 to 40 years. However, this depends on the quality of the door manufacture – our uPVC doors are designed to last and therefore won’t degrade or become damaged by normal use.
A simple and easy way to extend the life of your uPVC door is by keeping it well-maintained. Repairing any damage to your door, oiling the hinges, and ensuring the lock and door handle move smoothly and easily keeps your uPVC door in good condition. UPVC doors are also easy to clean as you simply need to wipe them down should you notice any marks or dirt.
Can you replace uPVC door seals?
UPVC door seals are important as they ensure your front door is weather-proof and functional. If you notice that the rubber strip has come away from your door, or even completely fallen off, it’s a sign that you’ll want to replace your uPVC door seal.
Luckily, you can do this yourself. After ordering a replacement which is the appropriate size in proportion to your door, you’ll need to remove the editing seal. Follow the instructions for installing your new uPVC door seal and test it by opening and closing your door: it should do this with ease and not let in any draughts.
Is uPVC safe?
UPVC is a sort of rigid PVC, and it is designed to be inflexible: it is made by binding vinyl polymer with chlorine. This unique combination means that uPVC is strong, thermally efficient and extremely practical.
UPVC meets UK safety regulations to building materials, meaning it has undergone thorough testing to ensure maximum safety and high quality. However, you must take care to recycle your uPVC door properly once you need to replace it, as it cannot be burned in the same way a wooden door would.
How much does a new uPVC door cost?
The price of a new uPVC door can depend on different factors. All our uPVC doors are panelled, so they include toughened glass double glazing as standard. If you wanted to add any of our high-performance glass options, like Stadip Silence or decorative glass, this may add to the final cost.
The door size can also affect the price: if you give an oversized space for your door you’ll likely need side panels, which can add onto the cost. If you’re opting for a door which is taller than the standard size for a uPVC door (6 feet 6 inches) then you can also expect to pay more.
How long are uPVC doors guaranteed for?
Our uPVC doors are guaranteed for 10 years, although – if properly maintained – they should last even longer. We provide a guarantee with our uPVC doors to assure you of the safety of our doors: they are expected to provide security to your home and function properly for at least 10 years.
Some uPVC doors may have a shorter lifespan – those with a woodgrain appearance can be less weather resistant, and therefore might need replacing sooner. For more information on our guarantee, contact us to find out more.
