We refuse to compromise on quality

Our windows are made from British Made, high quality MarinespecTM components, with up to 25 years anti corrosion. They are built specifically for the more exposed areas of corrosion, such as coastal environments to give you worry free performance beyond your guarantee.  We believe spending more on components is worth every penny, and sets us apart from our competitors.

Through constant innovation the quality, durability and security of our products is genuinely second to none. As a local company we are proud to offer British Standards BS7412/PAS24 for enhanced security.

State of the art fabrication for best quality

We have invested millions of pounds into one of the most state of the art manufacturing facilities in the UK.  This enables us to provide you with consistently high quality products at exceptionally good prices. Our loyal factory workers are well trained and take pride in their work, they really care about quality.  Our machines are maintained according to a rigorous servicing regime to keep them in top condition.

Superior energy efficiency

Our ‘A’ rated energy efficient and triple glazed windows are tested by the BFRC, which will save you money on your heating bills. By law your windows and doors have to meet strict thermal performance regulations but you can be rest assured that our products exceed current requirements.

Energy saving is incredibly important and so is keeping your fuel bills down. We are continuously looking for ways to make our homes energy efficient and one way is to choose new PVCu windows and doors. Not only will they help to keep your home warmer, they will reduce your energy loss.

Don’t just take our word for it!

Our suppliers conform to strictly controlled and independently monitored Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001, to ensure that everything is done correctly and according to best practise.

Our windows are tested independently by British Standards for security, weather tightness and strength performance. This means that periodically, we have to send them to independent test houses, in order to be tested to destruction.

These are just some of the many standards the products in our vast range conform to. Needless to say we take the quality of our products very seriously indeed.

What is a Gable conservatory?

A Gable – or Gable-end – conservatory is a classic and elegant conservatory style that stands out. Rather than having a roof that slopes back towards the house, the front of the conservatory is completely upright and forms a triangle. The roof has two pitches that slope down on either side of the centre frame, giving you a vaulted ceiling and making the interior seem very spacious. The front part of the conservatory is what gives it its name, and it is possible to choose different designs for the extra space at the front; a sunburst is a classic look, but you have complete creative freedom!

Why choose a Gable conservatory?

A Gable conservatory is a great choice to add some extra space to your home. As it has a square or rectangular shape it is great for maximising the square footage of your home and making it easier to furnish. Popular in the Georgian period, Gable conservatories are a great option if you want to accentuate period features in your house, or give a stately feel to your garden and home. The vertical front section of the conservatory means it feels exceptionally airy and spacious in comparison to other conservatory styles. If you’re not sure which conservatory is right for you, visit one of our showrooms to see them for yourself!

Are Gable conservatories energy efficient?

Just like with any other conservatories, Gable conservatories are as energy efficient as the materials used to make them. At Britannia, we want you to be able to use your conservatory as a liveable room all year round, which is why we make sure our conservatories are as energy efficient as possible. We do this by using high-quality materials, superior glazing and offering other options that could increase the efficiency of your home. For example, we can install dwarf walls or a tiled roof to your gable conservatory, which would help reduce heat loss in the winter while making sure you still get as much natural light as possible.

Are Gable conservatories secure?

At Britannia, all our products are approved by the UK Police-led Secure by Design initiative, which works to reduce burglaries by improving home security. We take your safety very seriously, and all conservatory glass – windows and doors – are toughened to make it difficult for break-ins to occur. We also use high-spec locking mechanisms on all our doors, so even if you feel a conservatory may seem easy to burgle, it’s much harder than it looks! However, it’s always a good idea to remove expensive electronics from the conservatory when you leave the house, just to be safe.
